Brasov International Film Festival & Market – Day 9

Brasov, Romania — September 12, 2014 – For immediate release – The 3rd edition of Brasov International Film Festival & Market (www.brasovfilmfestival.com), the most important and renowned nonviolent Film Festival in the world, continued today with a full house at the screening of the eighth film in competition, HOP, spoken in Romanian language. Tonight the children of Brasov along with their families were treated with candies and entertained with a lovely comedy directed by Tim Hill. The film, starring Russell Brand, James Marsden and Elizabeth Perkins, brought laughter among the audience. At the end of the screening the children were very happy.

The Festival this evening was presented by Film Director Bruno Pischiutta and Actress Denisa Barvon. After the screening they introduced the audience to the ninth film in competition GLOW OF THE FIREFLY, directed by Khalid Mahmood Mithu, which will be screened tomorrow evening with Romanian language subtitles. The screening will be attended by international stars who are members of the production team. ‘We are very pleased to welcome the Executive Producer Mr. Ebne Hasan Khan who has just arrived in Brasov from London, the film’s Producer and Managing Director of Impress Telefilm Ltd. Mr. Faridur Reza, and Mrs. Kona Reza, Executive Producer at Impress Telefilm Ltd. who have arrived from Bangladesh and who will delight us with their presence tomorrow night’ states Daria Trifu, Festival Director.

As previously established, the Festival changed its venue. Starting tonight, this exclusive event takes place at the elegant Cubix Design Hotel, one of the top hotels in Transylvania.

Brasov International Film Festival & Market – Day 7

Brasov, Romania — September 10, 2014 – For immediate release – The 3rd edition of Brasov International Film Festival & Market (www.brasovfilmfestival.com), the most important and renowned nonviolent Film Festival in the world, continued today with the screening of the sixth film in competition, FLIGHT, spoken in English with Romanian subtitles. The film, a Hollywood production, is starring Denzel Washington with Nadine Velazquez and Don Cheadle. It is directed by Robert Zemeckis.

The evening has been broadcast live by TVS-Brasov, a television channel watched by 87% of the families in the County of Brașov, headed by journalist Ovidiu Gradinar. Journalist Denisa Dumitru started the presentation addressing the TV viewers. Angie Antal was interviewed live by TVS and she has introduced to the TV audience the seventh film in competition, ABOUT TIME, which will be screened tomorrow evening with Romanian subtitles. The film is starring Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams and Bill Nighy. It is directed by Richard Curtis.

After the screening they introduced the audience to the next film in competition also showing its trailer. The actress Mary Spark was introduced to the audience as a graduate of the 2013 International Film Workshops and a member of the Festival’s Team. Also the journalist Ovidiu Gradinar was invited on the stage to address the audience, as well as the TV viewers, talking about what implies the making of a TV show and about the idea of nonviolence that he and the Festival share. Director of the Festival Daria Trifu had the pleasure to interview him.

Brasov, Romania — September 9, 2014 – For immediate release – The 3rd edition of Brasov International Film Festival & Market (www.brasovfilmfestival.com), the most important and renowned nonviolent Film Festival in the world, continued today with the screening of the fifth film in competition, spoken in English with Romanian subtitles. Tonight the festival screened another European masterpiece, LES MISÉRABLES. If yesterday night the audience was entertained by a highly regarded comedy movie from the Dominican Republic, this time, the outstanding performance of Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway brought the people right in the middle of the hard times during the uprising following the Industrial Revolution. Tears were not the only ones to flow freely, for at the end of the screening the hall resounded with applause. The film is directed by Tom Hooper. The audience attended in large numbers to see the movie and to take part in this exclusive event.

Brasov, Romania — September 8, 2014 – For immediate release – The 3rd edition of Brasov International Film Festival & Market (www.brasovfilmfestival.com), the most important and renowned nonviolent Film Festival in the world, continued today with the screening of the fourth film in competition, spoken in Spanish with English subtitles. After screening a masterpiece of European film industry yesterday, like ANNA KARENINA, tonight the audience enjoyed a good comedy directed by Francisco Valdez. The film, financed by the government office of the Dominican Republic where it comes from, is entitled ONCE UPON A FISH, starring Luis Jose German and Hony Estrella who brought laughter among the audience, which is increasing night by night. The diversity of the festival lies in showing different productions, big or small.

The film is directed by Joe Wright. The screening ended with many applause from a very enthusiastic audience who has attended in high numbers and has appreciated this movie.

It is directed by Paolo Sorrentino. The screening ended with many applause from a very enthusiastic audience who have appreciated this movie that has won the Oscar for “Best Foreign Language Film” in 2014.

The film presents the story of a privileged girl and a charismatic boy whose instant desire sparks a love affair made only more reckless by parents trying to keep them apart.

Bruno Pischiutta was interviewed live by TVS and he has introduced the film, THE GREAT BEAUTY, that will be screened in competition tomorrow evening. THE GREAT BEAUTY presents the story of a writer in threshold of agedness, Jep Gambardellla, who remembers his youth full of passions, when sees Rome as a mélange of political figures, artists, high society ladies, intellectuals and even lawbreakers.

Director of the Festival Daria Trifu addressed the audience and she spoke about the difference between the previous editions and this one, as the Festival grows larger every year. Actress Denisa Barvon was introduced on the stage as the ‘Face’ of last year’s edition and the star of the upcoming Bruno Pischiutta film THE BAD JOKE, a feature film production to be shot in Brasov entirely this year.

Brasov, Romania — September 4, 2014 – For immediate release – The 3rd edition of Brasov International Film Festival & Market (www.brasovfilmfestival.com), the most important and renowned nonviolent Film Festival in the world, has opened today with the screening of PUNCTURED HOPE (with Romanian language subtitles), directed by Bruno Pischiutta and produced by Daria Trifu, and nominated in Hollywood by the Political Film Society in Hollywood as Best Film Expose and Best Film On Human Rights of the year alongside AVATAR, INVICTUS, INGLORIOUS BASTERDS and THE HURT LOCKER. The film features the sad phenomenon of modern day slavery and female genital mutilation in West Africa.
