Coronavirus and the Global Nonviolent Film Festival

Our Festival Goes On!

Daria Trifu, Festival Director

I like to personally take this opportunity to address the many concerns we received from our viewers over the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on our Festival. I further like to share with you some news and updates.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)’s negative impact on the film industry and the film festivals’ arena is growing as more films are suspending production and film festivals are either postponing their 2020 editions or cancelling them all together. Among the festivals, Tribeca is postponed while Cannes is waiting until April 15th to make a decision about the faith of this year’s edition.

We are happy to confirm that there will be no changes in our program: as an on-line film festival, Global Nonviolent Film Festival will go on as scheduled!

  • The Festival will take place from September 24 to October 4.

The format of our Festival remains the same: All the films selected will be showcased in full on the Festival’s on-line TV Channel between the dates of the event. Daily video presentations will introduce the movies. The viewers, distributors, media executives and filmmakers from all over the world will be able to watch the films, their trailers and the presentations on-line, from the comfort of their homes, by going to our channel here:

I also like to share with you some Facts & Data:

Bruno Pischiutta, who serves as the Artistic Consultant of our Festival, has just published an article entitled “The Vision & Creation of the Global Nonviolent Film Festival”. If you like to know how, when and where this Festival was born, you may read the article here.

We recently made some updates to our website that include new information about the Festival, where to watch it, how to submit a film, and what are the great benefits of becoming a Sponsor. You may visit it here: Our Website

If you have any questions or concerns, e-mail us at info@nonviolentfilmfestival.com

In closing, I like to wish every one of you to keep safe and stay healthy!

Warmest regards,

Daria Trifu
Festival Director
